Do you remember when you would give the merchant your check, then go home and enjoy your purchase?
How times have changed. Now you give the merchant a check, take your purchase home, and the merchant takes information about your purchase and on your check and then sells or trades it to other companies. The merchant is paid for your information, and you are put in a database. The database is sold as a mailing list to companies that would like you to buy their products. You begin to receive solicitations, catalogues and other material from companies you never heard of.
