The Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley (JSTB), founded in 1934, is one of the two Jesuit theological centers in the United States preparing men and women to become leaders in ministry in the Roman Catholic Church. It is one of nine seminaries that make up the Graduate Theological Union. It enrolls only graduate students, both Jesuit and Lay and grants graduate degrees in theology and ministry at the masters and doctoral levels.
JSTB is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Executive Director of Development who will serve as the School’s Chief Development Professional. This position will manage the overall fundraising and public relations efforts for the School. This includes oversight of the annual fund, major gifts, alumni relations and completion of the current $16 million Partners for Tomorrow’s Church Capital Campaign.
Requirements: a minimum of a bachelor’s degree; five years comprehensive fundraising experience, preferably in an educational setting; ability to manage people and programs; excellent oral and written communication skills; and an understanding of Catholic Church institutions and donors.
