Rear window screen, controlled by the driver, is a great way to save the rear seats from the sun as well as to keep the car cooler.Independent air conditioning for driver and passengers, paddle-controlled automatic transmission, and outstanding brakes. This model has the best repair record of any other Mercedes model! We had it fully inspected by Mercedes Benz of San Francisco right after our purchase, revealing only two problems: the windshield wiper pump was broken and one emissions sensor needed replacement. Both have been replaced with no recurrence of problems. (Note: you will note, if you do a Carfax check, that it failed to pass the smog test initially---this was due to the failed sensor. Once replaced, it easily passed.) The original retail price in 2001 was approximately $54,000. They say if you buy a used car, always have a a few thousand dollars available for unforeseen repairs. Well, I doubt if you are going to need that with this beauty. I had it gone over again by my favorite tech at Mercedes of S.F. and no problems.
